Fiber Raman amplifiers use the Raman scattering effect in silica fibers to provide gain to optical signals. The 14xxnm wavelength laser is used as the Raman pump to provide gain for the C-band signal light, which can effectively compensate the attenuation of the optical signal in the long-distance transmission of the optical fiber.
